The Brighton Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) is proud to announce a new initiative for its 2025/2026 season: the formal integration of local non-profit support into each show.

The initiative, spearheaded by BCPA Marketing and Programming lead Erica Englund, aims to connect the "magic of the arts" with tangible community advocacy. By partnering with a different local non-profit or organization for each performance, the BCPA is transforming its lobby into a hub for community giving, hosting everything from food and toy drives to tool and pet supply collections.

“For several years, I’ve wanted to add a deeper layer of meaning to my work,” said Englund. “While we see immense value in entertainment and personal development, we realized the BCPA has a unique platform. By bringing easy ways to give back directly to our events, we can support the local causes that keep Brighton, Livingston County, and surrounding areas strong.”

The 2025/2026 BCPA include:

  • Livingston Hunger Council: Supporting local food security through targeted food drives.

  • Toys for Tots: Collecting holiday gifts for local children in need.

  • Tools for Veterans and Veterans Connected: Providing support for local heroes.

  • BCPA Student Tech Club: Raising funds for education, scholarships and technical training for Brighton Area Schools students.

“Seeing a lobby filled with donated toys or bags of pet food is just as moving as a sold out theater of smiling faces,” Englund continued. “It’s about showing our patrons that when they walk through our doors, they aren't just an audience—they are an active part of the heart of Brighton.”

Community members are encouraged to check the BCPA website and Facebook before attending shows to see which specific items are being collected for that evening’s designated non-profit partner.
